British International School Gdańsk

Frequently Asked Questions

At the British International School Gdańsk, we provide a stimulating and holistic curriculum for children aged 2.5 to 18 years.

In Preschool, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage.

In Classes 1-6, we implement the IPC (International Primary Curriculum), and in Classes 7-8, we follow the IMYC (International Middle Years Curriculum).

We primarily use our own BISG programs, which are in line with the  Polish national curriculum. In our secondary school, we bridge the Polish and international curricula with bilingual education, aligning the Polish National Curriculum to international standards for classes 10-11 (1-2 LO). As an IB candidate school, our inquiry-based teaching fosters conceptual understanding, collaboration, and continuous assessment. English is the primary language of instruction, complemented by a robust academic and extracurricular program. Our approach to education is based on several key principles that sets us apart from other schools. We aim to provide a comprehensive education focused on developing versatile, reflective, and conscious global citizens.

These certified international curricula reflect a British approach to education while preparing students to succeed as global citizens.

Additionally, we integrate the best of British education with the requirements of the Polish “podstawa programowa” (Core Curriculum). Our students receive a solid foundation as international primary and secondary students studying in Poland.
