Lower Primary School
In Classes 1-6 we follow the IPC (International Primary Curriculum) and in classes 7-8 we follow the IMYC (International Middle Years Curriculum). These certified international curricula reflect a British approach to education whilst preparing students to succeed as global citizens. At BISG, we match the best of British education with the requirements of the Polish podstawa programowa (core curriculum). Our students receive a solid foundation as international primary students studying in Poland. In the video below you will find the main aspects of the IPC programme.
English is the medium of instruction across the school. However, all students learn Polish alongside one of the three other languages offered: Spanish, French and German. The teaching and learning of English and Polish are differentiated in order to cater for the different ability levels of our learners. At BISG, we understand the importance of multilingualism as a gateway to success on an international stage and so, even though English is our primary language for teaching, we highly value the first languages of our students as well as other languages they will acquire with us.
We take great pride in ensuring no school day is ever less than inspirational which is why our site timetable is packed with a range of unforgettable events and activities. Some of these are listed in the Enrichment/Events section near the foot of the page.

We follow the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) which is a comprehensive curriculum, based on the English National Curriculum with references to the UK Key Stages 1 and 2, but adapted for international schools, with reference to the IB (International Baccalaureate)) inquiry-based approach to learning. It takes a very creative, thematic approach to teaching and encourages students to research and ask questions about what really interests them.
